PAST EVENTS
FeatherFest 2024 (April 18-21) in Galveston, Texas
For the first time in GCCP history, we were able to offer postcards with pictures, infographics, and QR codes linking to our website for learning about and donating to ghost wolf research. We also have started selling merch! Although anyone can buy ghost wolf and GCCP items on our website, this in-person experience showed us just how much people already know about ghost wolves. Our tables was visited and supported by a huge diversity of community members, from City Council candidates, city officials, to residents and travelers and our core founding members, Ron Wooten and Josh Henderson!! It was amazing to see how Ron's presence made a full ghost wolf experience for those visiting our table. He is a legend for sure and invaluable to ghost wolves. We hope to be a fixture at FeatherFest in coming years so please find us when you visit! There are also plans to keep the Galveston Ghost Wolf table as visible as we can at other community events, like The Artist Boat World Ocean Day Festival that will be held at R.A. Apffel East Beach Park on Saturday, June 8th, 2024!! Dr. Kristin Brzeski is scheduled to be make an appearance!! We continue fundraise, be active in the local community, and keep our voice heard by all where we advocate for those who do not have a voice. Our habitats and wildlife are the key for the future of a happy and health planet for the next generations to come. |

"Searching for Red Wolf Ghosts" webinar on January 27, 2022 6pm ET
Join the Wolf Conservation Center and Drs. Kristin E. Brzeski, Bridgett M. vonHoldt, and Joseph W. Hinton on January 27, 2022 at 6 pm ET for an overview of the research, including next steps. They will summarize their current research activities and some preliminary findings to illustrate how these canid populations along the Gulf Coast harbor lost red wolf genetic ancestry and how that ancestry may influence their unique morphology and behaviors. If these canid populations are reservoirs of lost red wolf genetic ancestry, they may be used to bolster the small and vulnerable red wolf population.
